Why do we behave the way we behave?
So, in essence we behave the way we do because we have been hardwired. Our mind works just like a software program. And this program has been painstakingly created through combination of genetics, childhood learnings and life experiences. Our reactions and emotional responses to situations and people are hardwired.
What causes us to act the way we do?
When we are not aware of needs, we act based on our feelings, thoughts, habits, or impulse. In essence, each of these types of motivation can serve as a way to deny our responsibility for our choices. Listening to our feelings carefully allows us to trace them to the underlying needs that give rise to them.
Why do people act the way they do in groups?
Groups Produce Conformity When we’re in a group, we have a strong tendency to conform to the norms of that group. This may be due to the fact that, in many ways, groups protect us. But our conformity impulse is so strong that it can overwhelm our better judgment.
